Why do guys do this? Do they think they are being funny, cute, are they in need of attention? Or is this the problem, they don't think? Everyone appreciates a compliment but no self respecting person wants to hollered at with crude comments and embarrassing remarks. Whats your opinion?

Actually, it is exciting recalling all the kitties that approached me..........one was a fiery redish orange haired one, another was a beautiful black cat, another was a sweet chunky chocolate brown...and they were all wanting LionMan to stroke and pet them. RoaR!!

She just smiled and thanked me. I wished her a good day and left the mall.

Interesting theory, Sarah. I know most will hold that we are higher evolved than animals, but was still do our own version of mating dances too.

As for cat calls. It's an easy whistle that many parrots find easy to imitate, and as such be used to attention. Plus it seems to be standard training repertoire along with hi, hello, pretty bird, the bird's name, etc.

Oh wait, you meant directed at women? Dunno. Can't say I've ever done it.
