Kind off the wall topic, but:

I'm considering getting one of those single serving coffee makers... Tassimo or Keurig.

Any suggestions? reviews?

I have a Tassimo they are great....for just one cup of coffee but
if you have a couple of cups it can be expensive.....

I bought a Keurig and it sucks. The filter basket is weakly made and makes weak coffee. Looking to buy a Tassimo now.

I have Keurig, Tassimo and Nespresso. The three all are different and ideal for different kinds of coffee. If you like espresso, Nespresso with the steamer option is great. For quick not-fancy cofffee I use the Keurig more. Costco sells in bulk for most systems now so the costs can be controlled.

I have one of these and I can't stand the coffee except for the cappuccino.

I am a coffee drinker, more of the espresso sort, and am on the fence about these kinds of contraptions. I wonder if they are making the little packages the way I actually want my flavours blended, or will i still be fine tuning it with other things to make it palatable?

I have considered getting a Keurig-type, one cup coffee maker, but they seem too wasteful to me. If getting coffee was too easy, I think I would be constantly drinking it. We have to pay for each bag of trash at the dump, so its also a fiscal issue. I enjoy making my coffee in the morning. Whether I use the French press or the drip machine with unbleached filters, the whole thing goes into compost when finished.

I love McDonalds coffee and the Ice Coffee $1.00 medium with milk and no syrup is awesome, I drink it all day.

Yes, I have considered the wasteful impact of all those little containers and have decided to go back to a standard drip type coffee maker. Un bleached filters...

Danolo, there are also mesh filter baskets for the drip coffee makers that are washable and you can reuse them.

Yes I've used them, but there always seems to be a bit of grit in the bottom of the pot...

I have the Keurig and swear by it. I tried the Tassimo but did not find it was nearly as good as the Keurig. I love the "Jamaica me crazy" and the "island coconut" coffees, Works out to about 70 cents a cup for wayyyyyy better coffee then you can buy. Never had a problem with the machine and had it for over a year and got my moneys worth several times over.

prefer the tassimo myself - but if you really want fancier drinks, the nespresso would be the one to go.

My Keurig went flaky after two years of heavy use. I called the company to see if they would service it for me. They offered to swap the broken old one for a new machine at no charge, and even paid the shipping both ways. I was really impressed with their customer support because of that, and have bought Keurigs from Costco for a few friends because of it.
