Curiosity about the average age

I'm curious as to the approximate age of most of the hobbyist? I'm assuming the average age is 30 to 50. I'm thinking one must reach a certain financial status first to afford the pay for play hobby and secondly I'm thinking above the age of 50, mother nature starts to take its toll. Are my assumptions correct??

I'm in my early twenties this is just something that I do once in a while for special occasions just for fun. I may not have a positive cash flow but it's a rare treat that I want to savor since I'm young. For example, going to skydive soon although I'm quite nervous/scared of heights. :wink2:

I think the age stratification has more to do with opportunity than cash flow.

Lots of 20-somethings with great cash flow (remember the demographics of sub-30's still living at home). Plus, every time there's a party we hear about the guys who don't drive (a vehicle is a big drain on cash).

When you're in your 20s, you have many opportunities to meet girls, socialize, etc. That disappears as you pass 30 and your friends are settling down with families and you're no longer going out every weekend or playing beach volleyball 3 nights a week.

Sure, you can still hit the clubs and hope to snag a chick. But sooner than you realize, you've become *that guy* (yeah, the creepy older guy all the kids make fun of at the club).

Not as long as I've been 16.

Once I got my driver's licence
never saw the need to grow up . . .

Although, like you, I did make it into my 20s
