so Here is the dealio.

Driving out of province and you get a speeding ticket. Over 10 less then 20 over.

The ticket has two errors.

1. The address is missing a suite number
2. The plate province was marked as the province the ticket was issued. Not the plate province Itself.

Point system is different so could be zero points. Could be 3 points depending on how your home provinces wants to deal with it.

Options,

1. You pay it
2. You fight - where you need to appear in court so that means another trip or a lawyer
3. You ignore it and hope they don't find you.

What do you do?

And no this did not happen to me but was curious if I did get one and then talking and debating happened and here we are asking to the masses.

I voted pay the ticket But I think you should get the correct information put on the ticket.
Just because they made an error issuing it you were still speeding and it will or should make you slow down.

DILLIGAF

Agree. I don't think the time and cost to fight a ticket is worthwhile especially for something that you actually did.

This what I said I would if I got a ticket. I pay them. I fuck up, I pay. That is the way it goes.

Others in my group had different opinions.

What I found interesting and why the "mistakes" where added is people assume any fuck up on a ticket means it will be tossed automatically but that is simply not true. Total myth. Only a couple of things can make a ticket disappear and is cop signature, ticket issued wrong as in it was suppose to be 10 over and you got dinged for 20 over. Stuff like that. Little mistakes in addresses when they have the correct license number, means nothing apparently.

It was a good debate. Can't wait to go back to the pub with some of the answers from across the board.

Also so interesting to see how everyone here says pay it but more people say fight on the other board.

Really shows the mentality of the people people in each place.

It seems I will have to remind people that I didn't actually get a ticket. It was a debate we were having while drunk at the pub. Lol

Wow..... You just get weirder by the day and, your last post says nothing about anyone's mentality but yours.Go have another drink, think up another story, then come here, terb, lyla, and whatever other boards you need to glean attention from, and then in your drunken stupor, compare "mentalities", yay, you go, you busy girl you!!:LMAO:

What kind of cop gives you a ticket for going 15 k average over limit?

Ok well again, it is not a real scenario. I guess we could have upped the limit. Lol.

Not that anybody cares, but here goes anyway.

Quite a while back I was late for work, and came up on a bull shit radar trap at 7:45 am on a mostly vacant 4 lane highway, while of coarse, well over the limit.

Cop jumps out behind some trees and waves me over, screw you, I nailed it, and said good bye.

A few miles later, here comes this cop car coming towards me, running people off the of a 2 lane road, lights flashing, no siren, makes a quick U turn and comes up behind me, so I pull over, I'm not THAT stupid.

We have a few words, not bright on my part, gives me a ticket for close to double the limit.

When I get home, I contact an real retired cop, who gets you off tickets.

He says he can get me off, but of coarse going to COST.

I explained to him that the cop had lost contact with me, and so could not guarantee that I was the driver who he caught in the radar trap.
The retried cop said the judge would look at the importance of the uniform, not so much the person in the uniform, so I could loose on that.

So he calls me in a few days later, asks me a few questions, and how I should respect cops, I said, of coarse I do,... :biggrin2:.

A few more days pass, and the retired cop calls again, and says the cop who pulled me over, and "mistakenly" spelled my name wrong on the documents.

So two cops make a few hundred dollars each, and I'm ticket free.
In the long run, what he charged me, was one hell of lot less than had he not got me off.

Do I recommend this to anybody, Nope.

Glad you enjoyed the read.
But bear in mind that this happened a while back, and in a rural area.

And I have grown up some since then :biggrin2:
