I did some normal shopping at Walmart and Freshco. I didn't notice that the crowds were any different than usual. But then again, it was in the early afternoon so maybe all the bargain hunters were home by then.

This morning I bought one thing online from a lady's wishlist, no Black Friday discount that I could see. It may be an early Christmas gift, assuming it even arrives before Christmas--it's been known to take a while sometimes. It might wind up being a Valentine's gift instead. Oh well, shopping early is a great idea--I've done my share of Christmas shopping at 7-Eleven at midnight, Christmas Eve!

Probably was a good idea, daughters can demolish credit, I'd run my cards up to 40,000-50,000 and my dad would pay them off, which just keeps the overspending cycle going. I try to use cash only since credit cards can get me in trouble. As my dad used to say, if you can't afford to pay cash for it at the time, then you can't afford it

Thankfully, we here in Canada, are NOT like our neighbors in the US and swayed by ridiculous promises of HUGE discounts and risk life and limb to save money that most of those poor assholes shouldn't be buying because they're, well....poor.

The average savings is not as phenomenal as one might think. The listed regular price is usually the suggested retail from the manufacturer and in these days of big box stores and competition, no one in their right mind would list MSRP.

You know how to save money on Black Friday? Don't buy anything, that way, you have more money to spend on bangin' beautiful women
