Sorry Baz, if you keep information hidden from Ida, you are definitely cheating. It doesn't have to be physically. It can be emotionally too. If you are just curious, then why didn't you share it with your wife? She seems to be supportive of your involvement with this board. Actually she seems hesitant about it but it seems she was ok with it as long as you are honest about it.
Sillygirl has a point, you have to make a choice: is being curious and making Ida feel uncomfortable more important than your marriage? Some marriages are flexible. Some are not. It is between 2 people and their choices and no one else's business. If you cannot fully respect each other's feelings or choices, then the marriage is inevitably done; now if but when.
