I've been dressing more casually this year. (OK, on the weaken, I look like a slob.). It's a bit of a kick going to retail stores and seeing what reaction I get. I went to the Apple store yesterday. I let my kid play with the iPad while I waited for a blue shirt. I stood for a good 15 minutes while at least 5 blues walked by to greet other customers at the entrance.

Same thing happens to me RAWD. I 'dress down' when out in public and am often shocked by how poorly I'm treated while shopping.

That said... If you walk in like you own the world in jeans, a sweat shirt, and sneakers. They will still fall all over you. They assume you must be loaded to walk in like that and think you're the big turd in the toilet bowl of life.

Subconsciously we all make judgments even when we don't want to. Simple experiment: walk into a Mercedes or BMW deal in sweats and torn shirt. Then go in wearing a suit a week later. See what kind of different attitude and reception you get.
