My stylist uses a straight razor to do my sideburns and edges. After a year, I finally worked up the guts to try a straight razor shave....and I loved it. Mind you, he's a pro so it was all very smooth and easy. Frankly, I kinda wish I had his partner (a cute blonde chick sporting tits that must be EE or more) do it. I digress....

I went to get a trim this morning and, on a whim, I bought a straight razor for home use.

He gave me a quick tutorial but as I sit her playing with the razor, I'm having second thoughts.

Do any HUBGFEites shave with the straight blade? What are your experiences? Tips?

No Madman - I have not intentions whatsoever of shaving my ballsack with the razor. This thing is not coming anywhere near my schtuff.

Where is your stylist located RAWD? I thought they fazed out using straight razors at all salons and barber shops cuz of health standards or whatnot?

Maverick Studio is where I go.

Several shops in the financial core carry straight razors. Truefit and Hill at Scotia Plaza and B. Sleuth and Statesman at FCP come to mind....

My recommendation - Try shaving your balls first.

I don't have the guts to do it myself, but my barbers use one - It freaks me out when they do the shave. I also went for a shave at Harry Rosen - They used a straight blade - fucking scary. I was dripping in swet when they were done.

What did they shave your face or your balls? LOL

Once, I went into Harry's with a raw silk tie that was pilling a bit. My sales guy took out a safety razor and shaved the balls off.

Don't shave after a bad drunk night. The shaking of your hand might just ........:don'twantto-see:/

Been using the same barber for 20 years, every time I go for a shave, its the straight razor. Have used a razor sharp bowie knife to shave a couple of times while out camping in the past. It's a skill to use it at the right angle and pressure. The trick is to keep the blade exactly perpendicular to the direction of travel and not to slide it sideways. Do that and you'll cut yourself.

Ditto. I use an electric razor at home, simply for convenience, and at 6AM it's unlikely I can manage a straight razor routine...but I visit the barber often for a close shave. Especially when visiting important ladies...

I really enjoy a barbers chair and a nice close shave. I stopped into one place downtown and the young lady massaged my temples prior to the hair cut. It felt wonderful but she didn't do shaves or happy endings!:grrrrrr:

I watched the video and I didn't see a happy ending but the ladies were beautiful

That happens upstairs after the massage....it's a two to three hour affair at places like that. You start with a shoulder and face massage in the barber chair (30 minutes), a hair cut and shave (from a real barber, not one of the girls), followed by a facial and hair wash (30 minutes) then upstairs for a one hour massage (really good one, too, plus...) then back for another shoulder/face massage (30 minutes). Total cost: $10 plus tip. I go every day :SayWhat?:

Shit. I pay $10 plus tip for coffee some days.

I think I need to reconsider my retirement plans. Maybe I should just pack up it up and move to Nam.

Mine charges me $15. Thought it was a steal. Well, for the extra $5 not worth changing. Sometimes it's best to stick to your comfort level.

waitaminute....

What do you guys pay for a straight blade barber shave?
