Does your title make you a better person?

We all know that success doesn't *just* come to those who've studied and earned degrees. Yet many look upon those with degrees as being more successful and accomplished, and quite often as better people. Success comes to those who are creative, inventive, hard working and who try and try again. The letters after a persons name really aren't an affirmation to anything other than they've put the work and time in to earn that degree. So.... does a person education, occupation, wealth, status, affiliations, determine their worth, in your mind? Or does their character and demeanor? Would you be more likely to see a companion with an education, over one without? Lots of thoughts today, lol.

I admire an educated person, as it takes perseverance, time and hard work, often times. But I so dislike those who use it to make themselves appear better, or others appear lesser than. I see clients from all walks of life, as long as they're interesting, respectful, clean and can prove to me they are who they say the are. People can be nice, educated and not

I very rarely use my titles and qualifications on anything except "official" stuff where I am required to by law or convention. I don't need the go boost, and it paints a line between people when you do that. I never hide the fact when asked, but I also don't tell unless asked.

If someone is a physician, I respect the 10 years of study. If someone is a doctorial graduate of the Arts, then I think they just stayed in school too long.

Some who has a doctorate in philosophy isn't any smarter than someone who graduated from highschool but decided to go into the trades.

I know hookers who went to graduate school for chemistry, computers and the like. They are very intelligent in their field of study, but below average in subjects such as economics.

My mom's friend (from work) is the smartest guy I ever met - he can fix anything - but he doesn't have any university degree.

Same here.

We live in a society where everyone is encouraged to go to university or college and get a degree/diploma. Yet, with this increase in education, we haven't had an increase in wealth creation per capita (minus inflation). We are poorer than we were 20 years ago.

I don't think so. Rapists, pedophiles, woman abusers and guys who abandon their children are definitely something lesser and don't deserve to walk free. And gypsies...with their small hands and odour of cabbage!
