This is starting to get on my nerves. Yesterday I went to buy a $9.95 bottle of wine. I'm going through the wine isle and find a brand called "Pino Griggo", the thought of Guido came to me and I had to buy the bottle. I proceed to the cash register and get the "would you like to donate blah blah blah" . I then proceed to Metro to buy some cantaloupe to feel up on lonely nights. I find cantaloupes are the perfect size and strategically placed under a blouse does the trick. I proceed to the cash register and get the "would you like to donate blah blah blah".......NOW I'M THINKING WTF....do I look like Colonel Sanders, the filthy rich baron of chickens or something, WTF......would I be buying $9.95 bottles of wine and rotted reduced produce if I was a rich fat bastard??? All in the hopes that this filthy rich corporation can deduct a huge donation cost on their bottom line?

NO , I will give to whom and when I want to GIVE! I will NOT GIVE because they feel I will feel obligated to because I have twelve people behind me thinking what a CHEAP BASTARD I am!

How many of you give at the cash counter because

A) you want to and feel good about doing so

B) you feel obligated too because of all the eyes on you and you do not want everyone to think you're a cheap selfish bastard

C)You walk away holding your head up proud and a couple of bucks still left in your pocket/purse!

I give only to animal charities and that's what I tell them, so no I don't feel guilty. This time of year everyone is looking for donations, including me:wink2:

I would gladly donate a incall fee to your cause, when are you coming here so I can yum yum you until Papa serves me a cold cup of coffee!!

I just tell them I've already donated and they leave me alone.

That simple.

This thread reminded me of the recent South Park episode about it.

Charity to me is incredibly personal and private. I have no qualms with saying NO when prompted in public as I consider it rude and tacky.

:rofl!:

I give 80% of the time. I don't give to Cadets and I don't buy girl guide cookies or chocolate bars sold so some upper middle class kid can go on a band trip or Big Labour sponsored causes like "Occupy" - but I do give to most every other cause.
