TORONTO - Two young children were found safe after the car they were left sitting inside was stolen Wednesday night.
Toronto Police were notified around 7 p.m. that a silver Acura was stolen in the Dundas and Parliament Sts. area along with the kids.
“A car was left running when a mother apparently went into a store. There were two young children, aged six years old and 14 months, left in the car,” said Const. Allyson Douglas-Cook, adding it’s difficult to fathom stealing a car without noticing children inside.
“They were located a few minutes later in the area and appeared to be OK.”
Although cops founds the kids and the car, the would-be car thief had fled the area.
Police were still searching for the man late Tuesday night

He’s described as white, in his 40s, with short hair and a goatee. He was wearing a black jacket and black pants.
