last time someone pulled a knife on me. I told him he was going to look pretty foolish when I cut him with it.

He did, I am sure he still has a scar across his belly from that day.

I cut across the side of the stomach. Made sure the cut never went deeper than the dermis.
There was no intent on causing severe bodily harm or anything beyond self-defense with a tude.

backed away forcing him to lunge.
stepped to the side and trapped his knife arm to my side.

Got control of the knife, spun him off to my side, spun with the knife, cut him and as I came by reversed and laid an elbow to the side of his head.
