It really is collusion at it's finest. Where is the Competition Bureau when it comes to the oil companies? Is it maybe because both the Federal and Provincial Governments reap in all the extra taxes? Is it maybe because the new HST is filling up the coffers and why ruin a good thing? Where is the media this time around? We 're over 1.10 for Christ Sakes, last time it hit 1.30 we were thrown into a mini slump. Why is everyone taking it and not jumping up and down screaming mad. :grrrrrr:

I just stopped for gas and filled up before I came home, sorry I blew a gasket and had to rant!

The gov't is letting the oil companies do the same thing that the Telco's do to us.
Do you actually think that the Gov't would do anything?

I'm with you Albino. Its Christmas and they know many will be travelling so its time to gouge.

As for the Government, they really coudnt care less until election time when we can fire rheir sorry asses.

Every morning there are people idling in long lineups for their morning coffee so I'm assuming the price of gas isn't that high yet.

1. Drive only when necessary!
2. Carpool
3. Walk if you can
4. Next vehicle purchase, buy a 4 cylinder

If its 1.10 now imagine what they have planned for us once we are out of the economic slump...I agree next vehicle is a 4 cyl for me.

Competitions bureau just went after the realtors. It does make you wonder why the gas stations are left alone. wheres the competition when all stations change each night to the same price.

How come some one hasnt started a class action suit for price fixing?

I cant speak to the causes of the dutch pricing. However I suspect average trip distances in this country are a lot longer and we do produce the stuff right?

My major peeve is still that there is clearly no competition in the market.

The Realtors are a series of small business people who can't get their organisation together properly. Theres lots of realtors who will negotiate or even cut their rates if you ask them to.
And lawyers hate realtors. I know enough lawyers who complain about what realtors make on a deal while they make so little to push a little paper. Thats why the competition bureau went after them.
Personally if I want to sell a property I'll happily give the realtor the 6% so that I don't have to vet the potential "buyers".

Multinationals have way more pull with the government.
And every penny that the price of gas goes up means more money for the Government. It's usury.
