I feel for the children.....hopefully they'll have something positive happen for them to help heal from this awful time.

The children forgave her and by executing their mother they were doubly punished. The state murder doesn't change what she did as wrong as it was, let her live in jail for the kids sake. Capital punished only serves as vehicle for revenge.

All this was of her making.

Agree and punishment served by spending a lifetime in jail but state killing in a case where loved ones are still reeling from the past is barbaric.

it is the path she picked.

For centuries there has been debate on the right or wrong of capital punishment.

Yet many pick that path

You many not like capital punishment....but it does guarantee that she'll never break the law again. I'm sure she knew it was a possibility when acted, so there's no "well, I didn't know" excuse either.

The only argument I've heard against capital punishment that I like is that it is actually cheaper to just lock them up for life. Okay then, but they have to stay locked up until they die. No old age pardons, no nothing. You couldn't live within the rules of society, you don't get to live within society.

Cold? Yes. But then again, I don't go around breaking the law. And if I do, I expect to be punished.

If justice be served to the actual criminal, spending a life time in jail is harsher than a quick end i.e. Paul Bernardo. You can see he is suffering in jail and i would actually be smiling if he were being executed.

In the case of Kelly, her death has only been another vehicle for punishment on her children thus accomplishing only state vengeance.

The asshole who recently killed a little girl and her dad in Alberta, tried to commit suicide in jail. Instead of letting him die, they put him in a medically induced coma until he recuperated, and now he's back in jail.

I think it's stupid that they worked so hard to save a criminal who deserves to die and obviously realized that fact for himself.
