In NYC for a few days. Yesterday was a stinker: 94F (34C I think) and close to 100% humidity. Supposed to be the same for the next few days. Heard there were big t-storms back in Centre of the Universe yesterday evening.

Today was a perfect summer day, hot and sunny but with a stiff breeze - so I got to leave the windows and curtains wide open instead of having to close everything up and put the A/C on.

Good morning friends, acquaintances and strangers! I'm normally an early riser anyway, but it's even worse when I'm here in the Central time zone! Yes it's just after 4 a.m. here and I'm wide awake!

I'm in Nashville for a couple of days, then we move on to Memphis for a couple more. I'm pretty sure I'll meet Elvis--I hear he's working at the 7-Eleven near Graceland--I'll get him to sign my Big Gulp cup.

Today I'll be touring the Grand Ol' Opry and eating barbecue. And maybe I'll buy a big ol' hat and some boots.

Back in the Center of the Universe, after four days iN NYC. Glad to be back, glad to be out of the oppressive heat and humidity (although today may get nasty), and glad to be back in my own bed!
