Has anyone here ever tried to quit smoking?

you guys are sweet.

So glad this day is almost over.

No smokes, no felonies, I guess things could've been a lot worse.

:great: Good job Sillygirl

Day 9

Day 9

Still waiting for those sex dreams. :bad:

It seems too soon to be thinking I can't do this, yet I find myself thinking I can't do this.

That's infuriating.

Hang in there!

You are now at the point where all the suffering will have been a waste. As much as it sucks, you have to stay the course. I mean if it were lunch on the first day and you were having these thoughts, it would be different.

If you can do something extremely physical (hours of yoga, obsessive abs work, something stupidly aerobic) to refocus your mind, it might be a great idea.

Agreed- that is the secret... keep active so that the mind won't have a chance to think about it. :???:

I know your kidding but I actually joked like you until I recently ended up in a Hospital ICU with COPD excacerbation and enough fluid around my heart to make me feel like I had the CN Tower on top of my chest. All caused by smoking. Now I'm very much motivated to give up the habit. My reality now is smoke or die with absolutely no grey area.

Thanks everyone for being so nice.

Day 9 is winding down, and I still haven't committed any felonies. Kingfisher will back me up on that.

Walk, abs, hulahoop. Half a cupcake, just to balance things out.

I keep having a cough, which is kind of funny.

These chantix pills make me sick and ruin sleep.

McD's makes an excellent strawberry-banana smoothie.

I hope it's not cloudy tonight and I can see Northern lights, that would be so cool, I've never seen them. I did see Venus and Mars last week, it was awesome.

I'm trying really hard to not play the mindgames with myself that I usually play when I quit smoking. It's hard not to buy cigarettes sometimes.

My shiny-hair stuff smells like baby powder, which is not my favorite smell. But it still smells better than Newports.

Congratulations on your progress so far, and keep up the good work!

I quit 3 years ago (after smoking for 25+). Did it cold turkey and found this website https://whyquit.com helped me a lot, especially during the first few days/weeks. Education is the best tool. The articles on this site are priceless (and free, btw. the owner/author does not want your money).

All the best!

Thanks for the link, your timing couldn't have been any better. This morning I had myself convinced that quitting would be a lot easier if I just had a pack here. I know it sounds silly but I had it all making perfect sense in my head.

I still have committed no felonies, although there are a couple in the planning stages. Turns out I'm a lot bitchier than even I knew.

How is no-smoking going Sillygirl?

Why, did you hear something?

Well...I moved this past weekend, and even a move that goes well totally sucks, and I had to cut the dose of pills in half, and I'm not taking enough xanax. I bought a pack on Sat. but tossed it unopened.

I've not been working out the last few days, but I think I'm unpacked enough to start again tomorrow. That will help.

It's still just really hard. Sometimes I'm discouraged. But I think it will be ok.

Thanks for asking, that's nice.

Thanks for the tip on xanax ... the neighbors may appreciate that I take that up. Keep up the good work Silly.

Thanks, KF, you too... Felony Accomplice Service available if you need it.

Careful with the xanax, I'm told it's very addictive.

Some days I don't care.

I hate confession....

I hate confession....

So last night I woke up from a nightmare, got in my car, bought a pack, smoked 2. Autopilot all the way, I didn't even think about it.

Public humiliation seems appropriate this morning.

OK... you failed... (resisting the incredible temptation to post all sorts of "Fail" pics... but I won't... since you already know you fucked up...)

Time to try again SillyGirl!

Get rid of the rest of the pack. IMMEDIATELY (But NOT by burning them one at a time!  :grrrrrr:)
