Made with Love

Het tboy...

I think having limited sick days (full pay) tends to keep employees honest. In the sense that many see sick days as additional vacation days. I knew many employees who were sick almost once a week, 3 times a month. It was fricken ridiculous actually. (and the worst part is, they'd come in the next day all chipper and healthy without any sign of any type of illness).

One of the things I learned over the years is, if you're sick? Stay the fuck home. I read a report that one sick person coming into work ends up costing the company weeks of man hours due to others they infect and lost production.

The thing that gets me is the EI. I have paid into that for...oh....30 yrs? (except for the last 8 or so when I was self employed) and I have yet to be able to make any sort of claim against it. Then I hear about "seasonal" workers who work through the summer then go on pogie throughout the winter even though there are jobs available. Same as snow plow operators who take every summer off......it burns my ass because here's a time when I could really use it, I mean, I am certainly not FAKING it yet can't get any.....

You see though, it's that burning of your ass thinking that is allowing the companies and governments to play take away. It's everyone scream "I don't have that why should they" and the elite are taking advantage of this thinking. You should be trying to figure out a way to get a piece of the pie which in my opinion you are entitled too. I don't think I'm misstating the fact that you've put in your dues.

What burns my ass is the ranking file workers gets shafted and get their wings clipped of pay and benefits while the boys at the top enjoy the life of Riley!
