I think it's a good thing--I get one every year anyway. I still get the odd flu, but I think I'm protected a little.

Flu shots are a good thing. They do not "prevent" the flu, but simply prime your immune system to fight a flu virus if one comes into your body (which it will!). Flu vaccines are made up of dead flu viruses, taken from a sample of thousands of different flu viruses, with the people who make the vaccine guessing which strains will be the most common this winter. They may guess right and your immune system will fight off flu infections quite successfully, and they may guess wrong and you'll get a virus your body hasn't seen before, and likely get flu as a result. So, it's a lottery, but there's absolutely nothing to harm you in flu vaccines. All they are is a bunch of dead viruses and some egg whites.
Stories of mercury in vaccines causing health problems are full of shit. Mercury has never been used in flu vaccines (at least in Canada). End of story. There is ZERO scientific proof of any problems from flu vaccines, other than perhaps a low-grade flu reaction (not real flu) while your immune system fights off the dead virus. It learns that way, and your white blood cells can then beat the real virus when you catch it. I meet so many people who say they don't believe in the flu shot, and they use medicinal herbs, or some other substance to fight possible infections. There's strong evidence flu shots work. The injection takes less than a second, is painless, and you get a free bandaid!

I've never had a flu shot and it's been so long since I've had the flu (decades) I can't remember the last time I did.

I've stopped getting the shot several years ago. Yes, I know there are a lot of pro shot guys out there, so don't flame me, but I haven't noticed any difference in my body. I walk around in a body condom so I'm completely safe! (JK)
