Just checking how others here go about watching your pennies while shopping, taking trips, Dining out etc...?

I give generously to my friends and family during birthdays and the holiday seasons but have my own set of rules. Here are mine.

When going to the movies I don't buy popcorn, sweets or drinks. I just find pay 1000 % markup is like stealing. I will just go home and microwave my popcorn.

When going to Dinner I order the best if not most expensive foods but will not buy alcohol. Just drink a couple of Johnny black's at home before going.

When grocery shopping I eat before going so not to overbuy specially junk food.

When on vacations I will only go to the all inclusive ones.

I have more but waiting to see other members' spending habits.

Best wishes.

I tend not to buy the movie theater foods. If I really want something I make full use of being a girl and take it with me.

I would never have any more than a glass of wine when out to dinner and even then I am not likely to do so.

When grocery shopping I do so when not hungry, and make a list of what I actually require. I don't mind stopping for a couple items as I find I spend less that way.

All inclusive vacations only work for those who feel they will get their monies worth in food and/or alcohol which I do not so I choose to avoid those. I will find packages, apply resort credits, etc. to meals, and can typically spend under 200$ for a 4 day vacation while eating nothing but 4 star+ food. I also often play the "fridge in room" card and purchase things I would like for snacks, etc. and take them with me as I go. It is a matter of choices.

I map my day out so I am driving a loop instead of back tracking to another point, or adding extra kilometers which means money in my pocket.

When I am traveling I check if there are activity packages, research all the ways to pay for one, and often find ones that include at least one meal or more if I purchase it a specific way.

I avoid most fast food places because I pay 2/3rd of the price of an actual meal at a restaurant for something "fast" that makes me ill or I can just pay full price and package leftovers (which I almost always have) to go with me for later.

I stay within the same colour families for clothing so I can add a few choice pieces here or there without having to actually buy entire outfits. This cuts down purchasing by the outfit, and allows me a greater range of clothing options. I also take my clothing to a tailor if the fit needs adjustment.

I do this not to "save pennies" but rather so I can afford EVERYTHING I want and not have to stress too much if I want something extra.

I like to shop and I can't resist shoes. My weakness are shoes and the matching handbag. If either catch my eye it's not long before the visa is coming out! I'm not a drinker and I don't smoke so the way I look at it the money I save on smokes and booze I can buy a few extra pairs of shoes!

BTW, I can't stand going to the grocery store being behind someone with a handful of coupons!

I thoroughly research all investment opportunities . . . especially when investing time and money with an escort.

Over and above some of the things already mentioned I get my movies from the library, where you can have them for one week, possibly more if no hold is placed on them, for free. While not always the latest release, you often find those gems you meant to watch and for whatever reason forgot to or just never got around to. I've been trying to watch some classics like Raging Bull, Easy Rider, etc.

Me too, which is why this piques my curiosity:

What year, and what kind of savings? Cost here? Cost there? Sales tax there? Import taxes here?

It's 2009 Corvette ZR1 coupe. I purchased it last year with only 1200 kms on it. Here it would have cost me about 100,000, I purchased it from a car dealership right here right online. They brought it over for me and I paid $82000 on the road. The car came from Ohio and it's mint.

Very nice.

And the $$ you saved can be invested in companionship with hot, sexy ladies like you find here in blue.

Nice car sinful, do the ladies all want to jump in when you go for a cruise??

I follow strict financial advice: buy high, sell low. Hasn't failed me yet. :biggrin2:

I've been following this strategy with my stocks for years but for some reason I can't afford an SP every other day, I must be doing it wrong.

I buy President's choice products. Just as good as the patented ones for less the money.

I pick up chix in bars to bang on weekends. No sp's ever. Too pricey.
Also jerk to incest porn.
