In case you didn’t know, Tuesday May 7[SUP]th[/SUP] was teacher Appreciation Day. Well someone should tell that to Jeff Bliss from Duncanville Texas. A new viral video of the high school student was posted to YouTube on Monday. The video, which was shot by a fellow student, features Bliss ripping his teacher for what he believes are poor teaching practices.
And if you think Bliss regrets his actions, then you are mistaken. He spoke to about why he decided to lash out at his world history teacher. He said " "I believe that somebody needed to say this. I want to see a teacher stand up and interact with the students, get involved, discuss, talk, question, and get deep into the subject,"
The Duncanville School District Chief Communications Officer Tammy Kuykendall responded to the Bliss’ actions saying “The district is aware of the video and we are currently addressing the situation."
Since the video was posted to YouTube on Wednesday, it has been viewed more than 140,000 times! Reactions from Bliss’ rant have been mostly positive. With one YouTube commenter writing “Nice one Jeff. At least one person in that room was giving a damn about educating the students. Shame it wasn't the teacher.” Hmm now there’s an idea for you Jeff, use that passion to become a good teacher yourself one day.
