Homeless asking for Money

As a rule, I wouldn't give someone on the street $.

There are enough charities to donate to in every city. It's part of my grocery shopping routine to donate bi-weekly; it's amazing what 20.00 per month can get for the needy.

Would I buy someone a coffee, snack or a meal? Sure, at least I know it's not going to A/D.

There have been investigative reports on panhandlers that actually have more than meets the eye. Homes, Cars, etc.

LOL, those who stand outside the beer or liquor store, really piss me off!

I agree totally. Last night, while on a midnight trip to the ABM, there was a lovely man (in his late 50's - early 60's) who was wrapped up in a worn and torn winter jacket, curled in the corner of the bank I was visiting with my friend. I was expecting him to ask me for money, he was in the bank after all. He never bothered us, in fact it was the total opposite. His body language suggested he was trying to hide from us as we entered the bank. He tensed and sat still, almost like a kitchen mouse trying to avoid being caught by the cat. He didn’t even make eye contact.
My friend and I left the bank and crossed the street to where there was an all night drug mart. We bought some juice, bagels and a few other staple items. My friend then made the trip back to the bank where he handed this man a bag of food. The man’s eyes filled with tears as he profusely thanked my friend. He was shocked at the kind gesture. Doing this for the man in the bank warmed my heart as it did his.
