Society doesn't view date rape as the same as "jump from bushes rape". Therein lies the problem. I used to live in a resort town and heavy drinking was common among both sexes. I'd always be concerned seeing the women so out of it they couldn't barely stand or communicate. I'm all for having fun but I think it's best if we all keep ourselves reigned in with drinking. Getting shitfaced out of it drunk is a bad idea.

As a side note, I live in the mountains and travel frequently. I am shocked at the number of women I see hitchhiking (and I pick them up if I can). Sometimes they're drunk. I was driving through a native reserve a week ago at 4 30 AM. There, hitchhiking, was a young woman. I didn't stop but I did call it in. I nearly clipped the chick. As a guy who commits time to finding missing women seeing that alarmed me a great deal. Anyways, rant over.

There are. Just like there are people who feel that if you walk on the beach in Rio at night with money and get mugged you're at fault. This ignores that committing a crime is committing a crime. Just because someone left a wallet full of money on a table in a Tim Horton's doesn't mean you can steal it. Just like if someone leaves their door unlocked it doesn't mean you can break into their house.
