Made with Love

How can you make the world a better place.

Be honest
Treat all people with respect
Help those in need
Give when you can (not necessarily money)
Apologize when you are wrong
Teach your children well
Stand up against wrong doings
Have a productive job
Love yourself

Get rid of the human race and let nature be healthy again.....:dontknow:

Release to the public that second Mayan calender my family has had for centuries.:toocool:

So mass murder of an entire species would make the world better? All those nuclear reactors and vats of oil left unattended? Besides, who says nature is unhealthy already?

We are all animals......There is extinction of animals as we speak......The world will do fine as it did in the past....So what about the nuclear reactors or oil...etc...We could have a mass extinction of humans just by the change of the atmosphere....germs....so on....

I could have said something simple that takes no thought like....getting people to watch their manners...Stop swearing, spitting....Helping one another......Volunteer....so on....To me these things have been written about, talked about for years.....We always seem to have the opinion that we rule...but when you really take a long long look at humans, we are as much an animal as the rest.....There is always a chance of extinction, the earth will be here even if uninhabitable.....they have found life in places they never thought could survive.....

How about Smiling more.....

Indeed we all could go extinct, there is certainly the possibility of that. However, how would that make the world a better place? The question itself implies, 'For whom'? If we are not there to enjoy it, it really does not matter if the world is better or worse. I truly believe that the environment is not that bad off. Since the dawn of time we have been destroying the environment, however it has only been in the past 20 years or so that we have implemented recycling programs, banned leaded gas, CFC's, and a thousand other things. In essence, environmentalism is in its infancy. One cannot expect to undo thousands of years of damage in a couple of decades.

Further, what have we done to the world that natural disasters have not done 10,000 times worse? Asteroids, hurricanes, volcanoes, global warming, ice ages, the changing of the magnetic poles... Yet still the world has recovered and flourished.

Yes we DO rule the world. There is no other species who have produced, or changed the world to accommodate its needs. Even the highest primates can only figure out how to use a lever or wedge. Engineering, calculus, philosophy, being able to live in and adapt to uninhabitable climates, travel to space... Of course we rule the world.

Be true to your school,
Just like you would to your girl or guy....

But to answer the OP: disband all religion. That in and of itself will solve the vast majority of the world's problems......

I think Bliss should watch the series of tv programs: life after people. Even though we've created all these issues and hazards, without us to maintain and control them, the world would be in big trouble for millenia without us around.....

I think the world would become a better place, nature would slowly recover when the people and their technology expire.

But 'better' is a value judgement. To have value it has to pertain to something. If there are no people, there can be no objective value, as there is no one to 'hold' a value so to speak. In other words, to attach a value to something when there is no one there to value it is really moot.

The only thing you're missing is the word eventually and possibly. We've impacted the earth to such an extent that the damage we've done (and are doing) is probably at the point now that it cannot recover naturally. As Bliss pointed out: how many species have become extinct? How many species are full of mercury? If they're damaged at a genetic level then there is no recovery without our intervention.

Same as nuclear reactors. If all the reactors in the world went critical, and radiation leaked all over the planet, no species would survive......(except maybe for roaches, they survive nuclear fallout)

Then that's a bonus, nobody would be around to put a value on nature.
