Many things have gone wrong the last few years for me. Stopped lobbying and hanging around the bad crowd to take care of family. Tough chore I must say but hanging in there.

How do you people deal with it?

When work of personal life gets overwhelming, I take a few minutes to think about the many things I have to take care of, prioritize them, then do them one at a time and work through the list. Sometimes, especially early on, it seemed as though there was way too much to do and not enough time or money to do it, but if you tackle it bit by bit things get better. When you do this often, as I have to with work, you gain a confidence to know that no matter what gets thrown at you, you can handle it by simply knocking it off one by one. I learned that technique from others, and have tried to teach others, and it does work as long as you don't go into panic mode.

Setting the order of priorities is often the hardest part, but it does tend to highlight that sometimes we worry about things that are not worth worrying about. Having a friend or mentor to talk to about the process can sometimes help.

This does help. Sometimes something gets thrown at you, talking it out helps a lot, then you know the next course of action to take. Taking action if necessary without planning isn't usually the best approach, I've found. Well thought out reactions, trying a few things, see what works, what isn't going to work, and seeing if more action is needed or not. Step by step the job gets done, one way or the other, but patience and perseverence are the keys.

Usually I find my first instinct is almost always right, even when I don't act on it and reflect for a while. Part of that is experience, of course, and part from other factors.

Friends can help, but sometimes they can also be part of the problem as their advice can be incorrect or misleading...but it never hurts to talk things through, as it helps you organize your thoughts. I always remember advice is worth what you pay for it...

I just look at what I have and the sacrifices I had to go to get it.

Always helps, nothing is easy in this world.

I go to my personal mantra.

'I win. That's what I do.'

It works.

Can't beat that.

Now tell us what you have done the last 4 months.

I take naked selfies and send them to those people I hate the most - the US Postal Service, the IRS, Barack Obama, Miley Cyrus, Kanye West, the brown guy on 'Big Bang Theory', and Vince - the guy who does the Sham Wow! and Sticky commercials on late night tv. Always cheers me up and helps me get through my day.

Madman tried something like that. He took naked selfies and sent them to Papasmerf, HOF, and Guido. HOF hasn't been heard from since, Guido has been searching high and low for someone he won't name, and Papa has had a weird smile on his face. Go figure :biggrin2:
