oldguyzer said:When work of personal life gets overwhelming, I take a few minutes to think about the many things I have to take care of, prioritize them, then do them one at a time and work through the list. Sometimes, especially early on, it seemed as though there was way too much to do and not enough time or money to do it, but if you tackle it bit by bit things get better. When you do this often, as I have to with work, you gain a confidence to know that no matter what gets thrown at you, you can handle it by simply knocking it off one by one. I learned that technique from others, and have tried to teach others, and it does work as long as you don't go into panic mode.
Setting the order of priorities is often the hardest part, but it does tend to highlight that sometimes we worry about things that are not worth worrying about. Having a friend or mentor to talk to about the process can sometimes help.

Taking action if necessary without planning isn't usually the best approach, I've found. Well thought out reactions, trying a few things, see what works, what isn't going to work, and seeing if more action is needed or not. Step by step the job gets done, one way or the other, but patience and perseverence are the keys.

It works.

How do you people deal with it?

Always cheers me up and helps me get through my day.
