I was at work today - earlier - and I had signed up 3 new customers. My team members had signed up 1 customer and 0 customers, respectively.

A disabled man was stuck where he was because his scooter had run out of power, so I stopped what I was doing and tried to help him. I took about 5 minutes to help him and when I returned to my group, I was scolded by one of the 'veterans' of our group.

I was accused of not working and taking too many 'breaks'.

Unfucking believable.

I left work on my own accord and told my co-workers they hadn't to adjust their personalities or I wasn't going to work with them anymore.

If I get fired, so be it.

I am glad I am considered weird.

Most people I meet - even professional salespeople - have no regard for others, even disabled people. Only when they know people are watching or when 'it counts' do they treat people respectfully.

I will always help a disabled person or someone I can clearly see is in need. Fuck the consequences.

Who knows what is true and what isn't and who cares... if you helped that person then you deserve accolades.If you've made up the story then I feel sorry for you. Kindnesses are often times over looked and always should be recognized We should all want to help someone when we can or when needed, sure it easier said then done but nothing feels better
