Ok, well, this is more a "pat myself on the back" post but I don't care, I needed this....
To make a long story short, I went with a client to Home Depot sunday to put an order in for a large deck I'm building.
Lo and behold, the pro desk was closed. WTF? I flipped out. This is BS. My customer says "lets go to Lowes". I said, I am not giving up this easily. I wanted to stay with HD because I had them quote on the job and had all the skus for the lumber. To go to lowes would mean HOURS of standing there while they looked up the part numbers for all the stuff.
So a really cute HD clerk was walking by and I asked her to page the store manager for me. She said he wasn't in, I said assistant manager then. she tried to page him and couldn't get in touch with him. She said what's the problem, maybe I can help.
I told her I wanted to place a large order and the desk was closed. She said "follow me" and boy did I enjoy it. She had a nice little behind on her....
She takes me up to the service desk, gets someone there to start entering the order, stands there talking with me while the woman is doing the input, there were some skus I was missing so I said I'd go dig them up. The cutie says "I''ll come with"...
So while we're walking back to the lumber department she's like standing shoulder to shoulder with me. We get down there and she's like glued to my side. Chatting me up, joking around with me, goofing around etc. So we get all the numbers and she's telling me that she knows a lot of the parts, but not what they're used for, how she's more into the design aspect, etc She tells me she has a kid, she's 27, and I say, do you want to come help me build this thing? She says she's working most of the week.
So we get the order entered and she asks if I have a card....I give it to her and she says thanks.
Now, I thought through the whole thing, she was just being a good staffer. We get outside and my customer says to me "so, did you get her number"? Ummm No why? He says "oh MAN she was IN TO YOU". I said "nawww she's freakin 27". He says "dude, you should have seen the way she was looking at you, making all kissy kissy faces"...I said "really? cool......lol.
I said to him: jesus, I'm old enough to be her father.....He says "dude, maybe she's into older guys and I bet she calls.....
Needless to say I've been walking on fricken air since lol.....
