I have one of those.....Most people do not realize that they are a working dog,
that if you do not keep them active with things do to they Will Get Into Trouble.
Many Borders are returned due to this....

My Border is 13 years...has settled down a bit....so instead of 1 hour play in morning at
the park....my ex taking him on hikes to the mountain and back, then me getting home
and taking him to the beach......He has cut down now to 1 hour play in the mornings, then he is
working watching out for squirrels who may invade his area in the back....then later back to playing
with his ball for 2 hours in the back....

When he was a puppy I was home so I did a lot with him....he was with me all the time when I could take him.....

The only time I have left him was for a weekend at a Kennel 3 days away.....well I came back to a
dog who smelled and shaking....he laid on my chest for a few days......I realize I could not leave him
with people he did not know.......It was like he was saying....What In The Hell....Don't Do That Again..:LMAO:

We also used a laser in the house when we wanted to watch a show....it would tire him out...
We invented games etc....

They are a lot of work.....It is like having a Toddler that never takes a nap and has
sleeping problems and throw in Hyper to it all...and that is a Border Collie....

My first dog was a Shih Tzu, I could not get another one,
once my Border pass, I can not get another....my is heart breaking..

If I did get another dog it would be a Bernese Mountain Dog.....
I fell in love with them.....They are wonderful with kids and very
protective.....but not as hyper.....
