If You Were Having People Over For Diner WOULD YOU COOK ACCORDING TO THEIR DIET NEEDS??

let me put it to you this way

I am offended by meals that does not include protein and am allergic to soybeans (tofu) and nuts

what are your options??

Respect and compromise, there are always foods that everyone can enjoy together. If you cannot eat soy and nuts and other diners cannot eat meat then enjoy a nice chana masala or lentil dahl for protein, serve it with some palak chaat (if only I could figure out the recipe from Rasika) a vegetable korma and some rice and you'd have an amazing meal that everyone could eat given the diners allergies and preferences you specified and this way everyone can come together over food instead of being divided by their diets.

Wow, you can cook too? LOL

I usually find it's one or two people at the most that have a need for special dishes. It's not a big deal to whip together a special dish or two for one person.

Without question. If you inviting them over you have to cater to their needs and dietary restrictions.
That's it in a (pardon the reference papasmerf) nutshell. It is not difficult to put out several different dishes that meet everyone's needs. You also have to careful to not cross-contaminate by using different utensils for different dishes.
Getting recipes for special diets is so easy, just a Google search away.

the problem with soup is most of them use a base of chicken stock, bacon or seafood.

The Butternut Squash used cream to make it velvety

You can use vegetable stock....and no cream is added....the soup itself can be creamy...

ps. Guido...am I a wop? :biggrin2:

veggie stock is made from soybean and peas along with onion, celery, bell pepper, salt and pepper

The soy and pea excludes me

Need to read the labels

Anyone comes to my place you will be served lasagna or gnocchi, followed up by steak and some type of fish with round parisienne potatoes and a vegetable with a side salad. Then for dessert a wonderful slice of tiramisu and espresso.

If this doesn't appeal to you, I live 5 minutes away from McDonalds!

I take it you will only be drinking Macmillan Scotch if you came to my place.......

I am actually fond of strong coffee and teas as well as fine beers and wines. All are a good mix with meals where as Scotch and its cousin Whiskey is more of a night cap.

I suspect if I do I will be doing the cooking and enjoying a good Schotch
