Israel has launched more than 1,300 air strikes since the offensive began, military spokesman Lt. Col. Peter Lerner said Sunday. Palestinian militants have launched more than 800 rockets at Israel, including 130 in the last 24 hours, the Israeli military said Sunday. Several Israelis have been wounded, but there have been no fatalities.

Israel briefly deployed ground troops inside the Gaza Strip for the first time as its military warned northern Gaza residents to evacuate their homes, part of a widening campaign against militant rocket fire that's killed more than 160 Palestinians.

If missile defense becomes reliable enough, wouldn't that make the production of missiles too expensive and obsolete?

And if you are showing Al Jazeera as your news source in your video...then you are an idiot or an asshole. You ought to know they're full of shit.

And if you are showing CNN or Fox as your news source ...then you are an idiot or an asshole. You ought to know they're full of shit.

But you wouldn't know that unless you compare American TV news to other sources in the world, like BBC World News, CBC News, Euronews, DW-TV, etc.

Ironically, https://america.aljazeera.com is one of the best sources for balanced coverage in the U.S.

Well, balanced only in the sense they present another viewpoint, which you can cheerfully ignore if you wish.

We have a lot of politicians in this country who cheerfully ignore a balanced viewpoint on the issue of prostitution.

Not trying to grind your ass, pal, just pointing out the need for being open minded.

And unfortunately too much American news gets dominated by celebrity twerking and fails to provide real insight on the crisis in Syria or Gaza.

Have you ever worried there are some answers you just can't Google?

Toronto-raised reporter Ali Velshi, long-time CNN host and chief business correspondent, thinks you should be worried. He left his job at the established channel to host a nightly series on the economy for Al Jazeera America, a newer network he says is going for a younger, more engaged audience that values context and analysis over kitsch and quick answers.

"Nobody needs another cable station, so we need to do better," said Velshi.

In a conversation from the Best of Q, he speaks with Jian about the image problem Al Jazeera still has in the United States (after all, the Qatari arm of the network famously aired Osama Bin Laden videos), as well as allegations about editorial interference. Despite the challenges, Velshi predicts that Al Jazeera America will become the news station of record in the U.S. within the next ten years.

Gotta agree with Art on this one.

I had to look back...nowhere did I mention Fox or CNN or any other source. I also didn't limit anything to "american" new sources either. . .
Correct. You didn't mention those channels specifically. Just thought it would be interesting to see your statement rephrased with American content.

Glad to hear you don't limit your sources of news.

. . . What we have out there now is opinion stations that people judge as "truthful" if they agree with it and "lies" if they don't agree with it.
Correct again.

Unfortunately, your previous comment implied precisely that kind of viewpoint:

Somehow I got the impression you "don't agree" with Al Jazeera.
