He said he wrote, "I need to quit texting, because I could die in a car accident."
“And right after that, I got in a car crash"

Like quitting smoking and a month later Doctor says you have lung cancer.

Wow, that is ironic, poor guy but I guess he's lucky.

poor guy? I have no sympathy for him whatsoever......all I can say is good thing he didn't take anyone out with him.......if he had, I'd say take him out to the back field and shoot him....we have enough people, we don't need killers in our society.

You can't cry "he didn't know, he's just a kid", with the dangers of texting and driving, even WALKING all over the net and the news, there is NO excuse for it.....

I say he got what was coming to him......

Futher to that, I drive to work with someone every second day, he doesn't text but his wife calls him every day, at the same time, on the way home on twisty backroads......I'm not happy about that because 2 days ago, he was fiddling with the radio and a truck ahead of us had slowed to make a left, if I hadn't yelled hey hey HEY watch out, he would have rear ended the truck.....

He's been shifted to another site and if he comes back to the one I'm working on, I'm going to tell him, I'll drive every day and he can just slip me some money.....I'd rather have the mileage on my truck add up (120 kms a day) but at least I know I'll arrive alive......

Yikes!

The term you're looking for is poetic justice btw, not irony

You have to drive 60km to the job site, that's a good 45 minute drive each way with no traffic. That is a problem because for most they can't go that long without using their phones for calling or worse texting.

It's actually an hour each way because the only way to get there are via twisty backroads...there's no direct route.....plus we have to go through port carling with is only a 50 kph speed limit.......

2 hours a day wasted just on travelling is not fun! Now there is some irony, you moved up north to get away from the rat race and then head towards it! We all need to make a living and have to do what necessary to pay the bills unless of course for the ones born with a silver spoon in their mouths.

I was saying the same damn thing just the other day...although, the hour drive is through forests, woods, along mirror surface lakes etc....a lot better than the 401......I saw somebody blasting down the road in a mustang gt and said, now THAT"S the car for this commute......

The pisser is, it costs me 20% of my income just to get to work, minus the 20% off the top deductions, so really, I'm working 5 days for only 3 days income and that is before all the other taxes we pay.......doesn't seem worth it......

That's why I stayed in Sauga, close to my work. We were thinking about moving to Bradford and when I calculated the cost in driving (gas, wear and tear) it just didn't make sense. Any savings from selling and buying would have been quickly eaten away not too mention the stress in the winter time especially commuting.

The Mustang GT would be a heat score for OPP, you'd be adding in court days to add to the stress. :biggrin2:
