Some people say it reflects/shows weakness, others say it exposes his sensitive side.

Is it OK for men to cry?
If "no" Why?
If "yes".......When is it acceptable for men to cry?

If a guy never let himself cry even about really significant emotional events, like if someone he loved died, that would be a concern. Just as it would if a woman didn't.

But if he cries at commercials (ok, yes I have) that would also be a concern.

You cried at commercial? lol what was the commercial about?

Are we talking a tear here or there?
Like your child's graduation, wedding

Weeping at the death of a loved one?
Weeping at a memorable song that reminds you of a loved one? or an anniversary of a tragedy.

A movie like: Brian's Song, etc.

Crying after unleashing the beast from within all over some lovely woman's face, breasts, derriere or vagina? I ball my frikken eyes out when I see a lovely woman wearing my babies! :great:

Eve.ybody cries, it an emotion. It not good to keep it in.

The best crying I have seen from Brash was, when I said "NO":he:
He begged and plead so I said ok I will let you have your turn with this Escort.

Crying is very good for men, it a release of emotions.

It's not okay to ask if it's okay to cry, that automatically makes you a sexual suspect.

That being the case... I better relinquish this:

I've cried over a commercial...

Can't remember specifically which one, but it was likely one concerning abuse to children... or something else involving children...

Since I became a Dad, I've become rather sensitive about such things.

I was raised old school, where big boys don't cry. Then again, it was also very inappropriate to express most emotions. So I learnt to swallow my emotions. As a result, I didn't even cry at my father's funeral, nor my uncle's funeral.

Now a friend recalls me crying after Dad passed away, but I do not. I do recall crying the night I nearly killed myself though. Outside of that, nothing

Then about 6-7 years ago, I had a major...Anxiety attack, on set of depression, or something, and that all came crumbling down. For about a month, my emotions were completely out of control. It took me quite sometime to rebuild those walls.

I still keep my emotions at an arms reach, if you will. But they aren't kept as well in check a they used to be.

Of course this presents some problems, such as being unable to relate to my own emotions, especially the less angry ones.

Nothing wrong with a man shedding a few tears at emotional events. Not sure about sobbing and wailing in public.

I find that I am becoming more comfortable with expressing emotions as the years go by.

crying is for sissys. Real men only scowl and go off and ponder what their next move should be.

:grrrrrr: <------- See my scowl, I'm the man!

I'd like to say it was shelter dogs or starving children, but it was Folgers coffee. Where's the "omg I'm so embarrassed" smiley?

In total agreement with Jawbone. A real man is able push those feelings down deep, let 'em pile up. That's why the US Postal Service only hires real men!

No matter their gender?

I'm with JB as well. Real men don't cry unless of course you take a punch to the nose or a hoof to the crotch. Those tears are justified manly tears.
