Perhaps using any other of the myriad of words available instead of rape would change the tone of this conversation. Coercion, intimidation, sexual assault, sexual harassment, exploitation, sexual abuse, impropriety, debasing, depraved, corrupt, degeneracy, lechery or perversion.
From personal experience as a woman not easily offended or intimidated, it happens far more often than anyone realizes. Up until recently I was sexually harassed at my mechanics shop by the owner. I had a classic Volvo that I LOVED, struggled for several years trying to find someone who could keep her purring. Every time I took her in I would receive inappropriate texts for days after (dick pics, explicit texts etc). Eventually he got grabby. I assure you, I didn't encourage it in any way and forcefully rejected his behaviour. Once I could afford to, I replaced my car and moved to another garage. Some men know when they have you over a barrel and that's when they become dangerous.
Rape isn't a joking matter and the word should never been thrown around lightly with any gender...
