Is the female sexual peak a myth?

I think both these two articles come off as being a bit angry towards women, but the idea that women reach sexual maturity at 35, while men reach it at half the age at 18. The second one seems to make the case a bit better though. They mention that the two "peaks" are actually measuring two totally different things. In the case of men, they are measuring physical prowess, while in the case of women they are measuring psychological horniness. If they measured physical prowess in both cases, then both sexes would actually peak at the same time.

Women, feminists in particular, have long lamented the male beauty standard. They claim it drives women to extremes like surgery and eating disorders, and results in damaged self esteem, all because men want women to look a certain way.


But of course, once you peel back the layers of victimized drivel and get to the core of the matter, you find that women drive themselves to do these things, biology leading them by the nose, because that is their quickest route to personal power, and because they don’t rise above it and find relevance in other ways.

In terms of species propagation, men and women are most horny whenever they are most fertile; their genital peak occurs at a young age. Both men and women reach their “sexual peak” – their mental maturity – at later ages. The key here is that each maturity occurs at similar ages for both sexes; the myth loses its power when we realize this. The first maturity is biological while the second is social. The myth of the late female peak says that women are hornier in their thirties by trying to equate the 30 year old’s behaviors and urges to that of an 18 year old man.

But still is there any truth to this sexual peak thing? If they're measuring women's sexual peak based on their psychological sex drive, while measuring men's based on physical sex drive? If we were both measured by the psychological sex drive, I think it's true that my sex drive is lower than it was as a teenager, but it is much better focused now too. Are women's psychological sex drive actually greater with age, or are they more focused like us?
