My wife bought designer shoes that I forgot what she called them. My span attention to it is non existent to nil. I just nod, just dear. Her little toe was hurting her while walking because it had an open spot on the side ($900 shoes) something to do with the strap wasn't long enough. Long story short.
Goes to her usual shoe repairman and asks where is Mr. XY, he tells her he is semi retired. Yeah right, he sold the business and new owner wants to keep her business, just my assumption.
Not a problem. She says I hope you are as good as he is. Well, of course he is going to say yes. Shows her the new leather he can add to the shoes and she says fine. Here is the kicker...Before walking out she asks, Oh how much?. He says $14.00. She just nods and walks away. When I came home she says to me, if he would have said $40 or $80 I would have just accepted it.
Question is, how do most in the non professional field come up with those kind of numbers. Doctors, Dentists, Lawyers and all have a standard minimum fee. So do plumbers and welders ($75 min plus truck fees). Shouldn't there be one for the others?.
