The rape allegedly occurred 35 years ago. Kavanaugh was nominated in July of this year. When did Dr Ford filed for the rape allegation?

This hearing looks like a witch trial without any kind of due process. Throw Kavanaugh in the water and if he floats, he is a witch. If he drowns, he is a human( or a really bad witch).

She is making a claim and millions of people are automatically believing he is guilty before any credible evidence is surfaced. In the mean time, just like Dr. Ford his entire family is receiving shit and he will forever be tainted by this accusation.

There are legitimate, significant questions about this nominee’s character, veracity and temperament. If all you want to talk about is what the other side is doing YOU are the one playing politics.

Before Clarence Thomas went through the SCOTUS confirmation process, his jurisprudence was... at best. Slightly right of center.

After the grueling ordeal he went through during the SCOTUS confirmation, Justice Thomas shocked a lot of people because his opinions oftentimes ended up to the RIGHT of the most conservative justice on the court--SCALIA.

Do you see the same thing happening with Kavanaugh should he make it through the confirmation process?

I also find he is too emotional and erratic to be a judge of any kind. Even if he is genuinely passionate about his family. Don't also forget he was evasive and refused 8 times today to request an FBI investigation to clear his name.

WASHINGTON - White House counsellor Kellyanne Conway said she was once a victim of sexual assault on Sunday, but said women's shared outrage over such misconduct shouldn't affect Judge Brett Kavanaugh's Supreme Court nomination.

Conway made the comments on CNN's “State of the Union” while defending Kavanaugh against sexual misconduct allegations. She argued that his opponents were wrongly politicizing his nomination and turning it into a “meeting of the #MeToo movement.” Conway said the news media and others often treat victims differently “based on their politics.”

“I feel very empathetic, frankly, for victims of sexual assault, sexual harassment and rape. I'm a victim of sexual assault,” Conway said. But she added: “I don't expect Judge Kavanaugh or Jake Tapper or (Republican Sen.) Jeff Flake or anybody to be held responsible for that. You have to be responsible for your own conduct.”

Conway did not elaborate Sunday on her experience, though she's previously alluded to her own #MeToo moment. She told a Politico forum last December that during the 2016 presidential campaign she sought to denounce cases of sexual harassment by congressmen against her and others when she was a GOP political operative, but was ignored by the press.

In that talk, Conway referred to an MSNBC appearance she made in October of 2016, a day after the release of an “Access Hollywood” tape that caught then presidential candidate Donald Trump in 2005 boasting off-camera about groping women. She implied in those comments that members of Congress had behaved inappropriately.

“I would talk to some of the members of Congress out there. I remember when I was younger and prettier, them rubbing up against girls sticking their tongues down women's throats. It was true,” Conway said during a post-presidential debate interview.

Conway did not offer additional details Sunday.

Asked about how she deals with her experience with sexual assault while working for Trump, who's been accused of sexual harassment, Conway said: “Don't conflate that with this, and certainly don't conflate that with what happened to me.”

Conway said her experience helps her understand that victims “should all be heard, and they should be heard in courts of law.”

Like many viewers over the past week, MacKinnon, a cartoonist for The Chronicle Herald, was gripped by Ford’s televised testimony at the Senate Judiciary Committee, which culminated in a request for an FBI investigation and the delay of a Senate vote on Kavanaugh’s confirmation.
“I watched the testimony as it happened. It was riveting,” MacKinnon said Sunday. “It was one of those things where you couldn’t even exhale until she was finished.”

Ford alleged Kavanaugh groped her and tried to remove her clothing after he pinned her to a bed at a house party when she was 15 and he was 17 — claims he vehemently denies.

MacKinnon said he was compelled to draw the cartoon, which was published in the weekend edition of The Chronicle Herald, to illustrate what he believes to be a crucial example of how allegations of sexual abuse are treated in North America.
“In a year that was so dominated by the #MeToo movement and the changes that I think we all hope will come from that, this seems to be an almost watershed moment and a very pivotal one for America,” he said.
The image has gone viral since Saturday, amassing tens of thousands of likes and thousands of shares on social media websites like Reddit, Twitter and Facebook.

If you take away all of the accusations he is still a horrible candidate. A current judge should NEVER be yelling at Senators during a confirmation hearing. A judge is supposed to be impartial, cool, calm, and collected. Judges don't yell. Ever.

Even if you just base your decision on his track record, the answer is still the same - he is a horrible judge.

This a lifetime appointment to the highest court in the country. This should be the highest standard here. One minor infraction and he's out. Period.

But then again, look at who we have as President. Mr. "Grab them by the pussy". The president has been accused of sexual assault dozens of times.

Whose truth?

As I understand it, the Ford team NEVER picked 1 July 1982 as the assault date. That was a date picked by some others. So it's not as though the Ford team suddenly collapsed and admitted it was all a hoax, as you suggest.

I think the allegations were not convincing. OTOH, I think Kavanaugh's personality is awful as well. If he hadn't lashed out during his testimony, I would have been a lot more supportive of him.
