As for leaving him behind...hmm I dunno about that. He's all for the euro/modern style of automatic icing......but you have to admit he does have a point about the shoulder and elbow pads contributing to injuries...I mean seriously, that's like body armor.....
But honestly, build a team of good skaters, who aren't afraid to hit cleanly, and I'll get you the cup every year. Philly did it for, what, three years in a row? Boston is a prime example. Do they have any superstar shooters? I don't think so but they do play the rock em sock style that Cherry adores.....Look at the sedins.....hit em a couple of times and they fail(ed). Now I will admit, there were a LOT of cheap shots that weren't picked up by the refs.....(and don't get me started on THAT point)
