Led Zeppelin Is Getting Sued Over ‘Stairway to Heaven’

It cracks me up when people rip on Led Zeppelin for "stealing" some old blues songs. Tell you what, go to You Tube and actually listen to the originals...if you can. I'll give you about 45 seconds and then you'll turn it off. Know why? Because they're unlistenable and brutally bad. The Led Zeppelin versions are 100% better. Yes, that's no excuse for not giving credit; they absolutely should have.

Yep, Led Zeppelin "ripped off" a few blues tunes and belatedly gave credit. Funny how the same people who love to rip on those particular songs never want to give credit for the rest of the material spread out over 10 albums. Aside from those tracks, all of which is incredibly artistic, genuine and 100% Led Zeppelin awesomeness.

The internet wasn't around 40-years ago. You can't get away with this type of thing anymore. In any event, nobody played those Blues rifts like Zepplin did. I forgive them.

Stairway to Heaven is a sucky pop tune.

I liked them when they rocked, or ripped off the blues.

I don't get people calling Stairway the best rock song ever. It wasn't great when it came out, and the only reason to put it on the stereo back then was to slow dance with a girl :biggrin2:

Doesn't really matter.

I believe Zeppelin sold their rights in the 80's or 90's for tens of millions of dollars, so any lawsuit will not be directed towards any single member of LZ.
