Actually, I have tried them.... many years ago, i stepped into a diner in the deep South and ordered bacon and eggs.

The grill man laid my plate in front of me and I saw the little mound of white stuff on my plate. I asked him, "What's that?"
He replied, "Them's grits".

I suspect this this experience was not the best way to have grits for the first time, but I ate them and they were ok... just ok...

I don't know where I'd go in Toronto to get an excellent serving of grits, but then.. I'm not sure its so important, either..

they biggest problem with grits is most places use instant grits and that is like using instant taters
never as good as regular grits

most every day I have a breakfast out
