U.S. turns to China in fight against Sony hackers: report

LOS ANGELES - The Obama administration is seeking China's help in stopping North Korea form to launching future cyberattacks, the New York Times reports.

President Barack Obama said on Friday that the U.S. would retaliate for the attack on Sony Pictures, which the FBI linked to North Korea earlier in the day. He said the U.S. will levy a "proportional response" that would come "in a place and manner and time that we choose," but divulge any details.

"What we are looking for is a blocking action, something that would cripple their efforts to carry out attacks," an official told the New York Times.

The Chinese have not responded yet, but their cooperation could be critical as virtually all of North Korea's telecommunications use Chinese-operated networks.

The FBI announced on Friday that North Korea was "responsible" for the hack, which led the studio to cancel its Christmas Day release of "The Interview." North Korea denied responsibility on Saturday, instead proposing a joint investigation into the hacking attack.

"The U.S. should bear in mind that it will face serious consequences in case it rejects our proposal for joint investigation," an unidentified North Korean Foreign Ministry spokesman warned.

Hustler to Produce Porn Parody of 'The Interview'

The porn industry is jumping onto the bandwagon in the wake of the Sony cyberattack.

Hustler Video, the purveyor of an endlessly expanding library of pornographic parodies of pop cultural touchstones, from The Simpsons to Glee to Game of Thrones, will produce This Ain't the Interview XXX, an adult-video spoof of the Seth Rogen North Korea-set comedy.

The story will center on two civilians recruited by the CIA to assassinate the leader of North Korea.
Hustler founder and chairman Larry Flynt alluded to the backlash against Sony's cancelation of The Interview's release in his statement announcing the parody.

"I've spent a lifetime fighting for the First Amendment, and no foreign dictator is going to take away my right to free speech," he said. (His 1988 Supreme Court win against Jerry Falwell is considered a landmark of free expression law.)

"If Kim Jong Un and his henchmen were upset before, wait till they see the movie we're going to make," Flynt added.

Production is set to begin in early 2015.
