North Korea furious over viral Chinese video that mocks Kim Jong-un

North Korea has asked China to stop the spread of a video clip lampooning leader Kim Jong-un.

According to a source in China on Tuesday, the North feels the clip, which shows Kim dancing and Kung-Fu fighting, "seriously compromises Kim's dignity and authority."

Beijng was unable to oblige.

The viral video is a Chinese-language techno track that features various dance and fight scenes in which Kim's head has been magicked on the body of a participant. In one scene, the eternally smiling Kim is knocked out by U.S. President Barack Obama, while in another he has a bucket upturned on his head and is pushed into a swimming pool.

In a third he dances through a field hand in hand with Osama Bin Laden.

The clip was made by a Chinese man surnamed Zhang from Suzhou who reportedly studied at Kyonggi University in South Korea.

Meanwhile, the North has written to the White House to protest against Hollywood comedy "The Interview," which is about an assassination attempt on Kim.

In the letter, the North's National Defense Commission says the caper is an insult to its supreme leader, Voice of America reported Thursday.

Kim hadn't been seen in public since attending a state concert with his wife on Sept. 3, walking with a limp, leading to questions about his health and the country's future leadership. KCNA reported that on the same day as the tour of the residential complex, Kim also visited another new state project, the Natural Energy Institute of the State Academy of Sciences.

The KCNA report did not specify on which day he made the visits. In still pictures broadcast by state TV, Kim was often shown seated, once with a cigarette in his hand, while his aides stood. He was also shown in a green multi-seat golf cart, along with several members of his entourage. The Obama administration told NBC News it was still trying to determine the report's authenticity.
