Interesting Hmmmmmm

NEW YORK (AP) - New York City's child welfare agency wants more gay and lesbian foster parents.
The Wall Street Journal says there's a major push to expand the kinds of families who consider fostering. Another goal is to find homes for children who identify as lesbian, gay, bisexual or transgender.

The executive director of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual & Transgender Community Center says many gay New Yorkers don't realize that the city allows them to become foster parents.

Peter Decaro and Kevin Leavy of Brooklyn became foster parents to a 2-year-old girl and a 17-month-old boy in December.
Decaro says he can't imagine life without them.

How can young ones know at a young age if they are gay or not?.

They really have to be careful with this one. Make sure they fit the right parents vs kids.

Talking about the subject.

I don't agree , a small child who has yet to decide his or her sexual orientation should be placed in a home with a mom and dad. An older child i.e. 13 and up I don't see a problem with it. It's only my opinion people. I say this because I know some will be upset with my statement.

what you say I agree with.

Give the kid a chance to know a hetero family situation.

Thank you for stating so Papasmerf. Young children are very impressionable and look up to their parents. If sexual orientation has yet to be developed it is possible in my opinion to confuse the young lad causing problems in their teens. Society is increasingly interfering with mother nature and in the way things were meant to be, again this is only my opinion.

Why, because the hetero family situations that landed them in foster care were so great?

Maybe the hetero family passed away in an accident. It's not necessarily a bad family or it may have been a single parent home where the single parent couldn't cope.

you make 2 assumptions

First is that the child or children came out of a home with 2 parents, one male and one female

The second is that Gay Couples do not have the typical issues that make up an unhappy home
