The reality is that many parents are too busy working trying to earn a living and providing food for their families. I m not saying they are wrong or right, but many children often arrive home when their parents are still working. Secondly, many of their parents are too embarassed or uncomfortable to discuss healthy sex with their children. Then there is the cultural issue as well.

The teachers are paid to educate our children and to instill morals on what is acceptable in today's society in collaboration with parents.

Remember most parents today are both working parents returning home around 5 or 6, rushing to make dinner and other chores around the home. In reality and it's sad to say most kids spend more time at school than they do with their mom and dads.

True story, my mother's cousin was a priest and he was for just under 10 years. He had taught at an all boys' school and was transferred to a regular RC high school. He met a woman, fell in love and left the priesthood to marry her. They had 5 children and he taught at U of T for decades in theology.

There are good and bad amongst any group of people. I'm personally against painting any group of people with the same stripe just because a minority or even a majority of them act in a way I disagree with....except for the Canadians...they really burn me up!

Now, when the organization works to actually cover up the wrongs being perpetrated by its members, there you have a big problem. Especially when that wrong goes directly against the purpose, teachings, etc. of that group. I walked away from the catholic church and organized religion a loooooong time ago. As soon as I started noticing all of they hypocrisy and contradictions.

Agreed. Boy Scouts and Big Brothers are a positive influence in the lives of many children, even though their organizations have also been used as a playground for pedophiles.
