A Plymouth pole dance instructor has praised a fellow dancer whose video has been spreading on the internet proving you don't have to be thin to take part.
Emma Haslem's video shows her incredible skills as a pole dancer even though she is a self-confessed 'larger lady'.
Plymouth's Sam Remmer has worked with Emma as part of Pole Dance Community - a sort of governing body for the pole dance industry.
Sam, who runs the Plymouth-based Art of Dance school, said: "Emma's a really lovely person, a great teacher and very active in the community so it is great to see her getting some attention.
"Some commenters have said she isn't promoting a healthy image, but her video shows pole dancing is for everyone and is a great way of getting and keeping fit and healthy."
Emma Haslam, 27, who runs pole dancing classes in Derby, is taking part in her debut competition in Skegness this weekend.
She said: "I have always wanted to take part in competitions but never had the time or the confidence to do it myself.
"I am a larger lady and people do expect skinny people but I am really looking forward to it. I haven't always been a larger lady, but I had my daughter three years ago.
"I don't think I will win it as I know all the girls there and know what to expect.
"No matter what your age, shape or size you can learn to pole dance - there are no restrictions."
