Police charge Thornhill homeowners after confrontation with break-in suspect

Here we go again. Thieves try to rob you, you beat one of them and now they charge you.

What gives?.


MARKHAM, Ont. – A suspect in a Thornhill break-in remains in hospital in critical condition after being confronted by the homeowners, who now face charges.
York regional police told 680News they were called to a home on German Mills Road, in the Don Mills and Steeles area just before 4:30 a.m.
Those in the home said three people were trying to break in to their garage.

Two people living in the home came outside to see what was going on, and a confrontation ensued between them and one of the three suspects, according to police.
“There was an altercation that had occurred between one of the suspects and the homeowners outside of the residence,” Constable Andy Pattenden told 680News.

“When police arrived, they found the suspect had sustained life-threatening injuries. The suspect was then transported to hospital.”
Two Markham men, aged 44 and 46, have been charged with aggravated assault.
Police said they are still looking for the two other suspects.
Any witnesses are asked to call police.

Our society is messed up. The robbers should have never entered in someone's house without the homeowner's persmission. If so, don't be surprised to be shot or beaten up.

The problem boils back to the lack of property rights in the consitution.... apparently we do not have the right to defend our property...... its shit like this why I keep losing respect for the police. Even I got charged with assault when defending myself from a trespasser that was bent on causing me harm years ago.

SO what happened? DId you get the charge dismissed? Still, it is time consuming, expensive and emotionally draining.

Several thousand later the charges against me were thrown out and other guy had private charges laid against him. My lawyer managed to get him 2 months in jail for threatening bodily harm with a weapon. After the trial I told the cop that charged me to use his fucking head next time and that if he ever showed up on my property again there would be a civil lawsuit against him personally.

We're living in a society now where the liberals allow endless abortions yet if a kid makes a mistake he or she might get racked up on felony charges yet serious crimes are never dealt with properly. It's completely fucked up....

Isn't it time the property rights to the owners should be re-written. Can't find the logic on this one.
