Policy Question for Ladies and Gents Alike

JR, you're like the Dr. Phil (female version) of the boards. You just tell it like it is. Many people don't want to hear the truth so I can see why they may take issue with you. Personally I trust people like you who don't embellish.

Well this is a safe place to talk about hard things. I admit that. LMAO!!!!!

Imho, it’s not fair to the paying advertisers for you to post without being a paying advertiser. I can see why the other lady’s would flag you posts.

I also can't agree. I think the lounge is the lounge and it is open to everyone. This is VBulletin software, the amount of mods that can be applied to this type of forum would allow for any owner to restrict whatever he/she wants. As you can see because SS was banned from commenting on ONE section only, individually for a couple of years. That power can extend to group level permissions.

So if the lounge is open to everyone, then it is fair game.

Now if a board wanted only advertisers to make comments on their threads, they should make it as such. Granted, it is a little bit of extra work on the back end, but it can easily be done. The rule was only commenting once or twice in your own review thread.

Ladies and /or advertisers please do not post or comment on reviews of other ladies - as much as possible please leave the reviewing to clients, Thank you

Similarly, when someone asks for recommendations, please leave it to the reviewers to avoid accusations of promoting friends and co-workers.

And it's not necessary to thank everyone who comments favourably - once or twice is sufficient, and please refrain from including promotions.

So ladies are included in this. She was singled out. I know ladies who have complained about her doing it. I personally am an advertiser there but I don't feel a way about it. I am not threatened by her business, so I don't feel it affects me. It is not to say that others haven't complained and Fred has had to do what they think is best, but it is no surprise that it is the slow season, the long stretch at the end of the slow season I should say and this is when others are complaining. She gets multiple reviews in a given month. She replies politely to them. Not her fault the number of reviews keeps growing and women feel her name is in the spotlight all the time. That is her service level speaking.

If you don't have information to your website, social media, etc. in your signature or profile there shouldn't be any reason to prohibit posting, even if not a current advertiser.

I agree. Except for one caveat. Homepage link on the profile. Again owners should take the option out of profiles for all non-paying advertisers. Don't put something that is available to everyone else, but says that because she is a woman, who works, she can't have "this". Non-advertising is non-advertising for everyone. Including the men. I have seen reviewers put homepage links to their favourite ladies on their own profile. Or put their work link. Some men who don't care about being IDed. How is that fair?

If you put the option in, except it to be used or take it out. That is an admin job in my opinion.

Agree. I know of one non supporting provider that posts very rarely but when she does her work number is listed as her location, right under her handle. I've never seen her banned. Most likely it's because no one's caught it or if they have, complained about it.

I think I have my site in my "Location" thing. Because that is my location on the web. But I get the point.

Popular people will always be called for the smallest issues of behaviour. They are the people who are used as examples. It is just the way the world works.

Some stuff is important in my opinion, others are not. A "location" section on the side of your post, that is one thing. Jumping into a thread asking about BBBJ and CIM and a girl jumps in who is not an advertiser and says " OH I do that baby and I am the best, call me here 416-555-1234" That is a problem and needs to be addressed.

Thank you Jessica for your informative and common sense post!

If more people exercised their grey matter they'd realize that despite being unable to respond in reviews for a long period of time, or simply not doing so for reasons unknown, I continued to be positively assessed, meaning my graciousness,
although contributing to my popularity in a small way, wasn't the main reason why I was being endorsed by members.

Interestingly during that period of time 4 of my latest reviews, excluding the current one, were disrupted by a member jumping on them mentioning an unrelated lady in blue, claiming how much better she is than me in some way, shape or form. The first time it happened the lady in question jumped on my review thanking the member for the mention, something that is against policy
(Ladies and /or advertisers please do not post or comment on reviews of other ladies - as much as possible please leave the reviewing to clients, Thank you). I know her to be a good provider in her own right, but I still found it suspicious, especially as it was done so many times and when I couldn't defend myself on there with a response. The first time it happened after the lifted ban I quashed this practice in a very classy manner, turning the tables a bit. In an effort to neutralize the situation I noticed a quick response by a member in a review of hers immediately after my post. I have also found this lady to be less than helpful in providing me with references when asked so I wouldn't be surprised if she's one of the complainers. To further alleviate the matter I pointed out to members that I had changed my name 3 years ago and in order to avoid any confusion they were to refer to me as Sophia Sinclair moving forward, not my old moniker. My latest review was titled as such and this stopped the silliness, or so I had thought, but she I suspect and others went after me in another way, by flagging my posts.

I also have to say that using the time of year as an excuse for this behaviour doesn't wash with me. Those of us who've been doing this a while know the industry slows down after the holidays and should financially plan accordingly, taking responsibility, instead of pointing fingers and blaming others for a lack of foresight.

If you've been following all I've been through over the years of being in this industry and before that you'll have figured out that I'm a tough woman and will persevere, passing this bump in the road as well.

Thank you everyone, I feel I can lay this to rest!

Sophia and the rest of the ladies I can honestly say I enjoy reading your input and insight . I may not always agree with it but I do think it's important to always hear both sides.

When I started on the boards I used to thank members who reviewed me or honourably mentioned me in a thread via PM. Swede pointed out to me that gents like to see a show of appreciation and that I should publicly thank members, so I began doing just that.

A few years back the red board changed the rules of engagement rather suddenly, asking that ladies not thank everyone in a review or what I term a recommendation thread (e.g. who's good at x, y or z), only once or twice. I've always been of a mind that I should thank everyone who praises me and therefore supports me and my services. Unaware of the new rule (I know ignorance of the law does not exonerate you) and feeling that it's bad form to thank some and not others I continued to do what I had always done without issue and was banned from the former "incall' section for 2.5 years. I feel this was harsh, especially given the insults some ladies sling towards members on there who get banned for their arguments but then reinstated rather quickly. Mind you, they are supporting (blue) members.

When the new 'indy' section was revealed I was mysteriously restored to full rights. I endeavored not to make the same mistake again so I went on a review once, thanking those who had mentioned me thus far. I either misunderstood the "ladies/advertisers" part or they have arbitrarily changed the rules again. According to mgmt no less than 5 advertising ladies have flagged my post. I apologized for my apparent lack of comprehension and never responded to the review again. However, I received further communication from admin that my posts continue to get flagged. This means that my lounge contributions are being perceived as 'phantom advertising'. I've been recently posting in the lounge quite liberally, as I have here in the lobby, when I feel I have something to lend to the topic on hand. I can assure everyone that I don't post for the sake of posting, trying to get my name, etc. out there every chance I can. In fact, ladies and members alike have stated that my posts can be quite good and benefit the community.

I realize that this is a slow time of year, but given that I always try to support my fellow providers, backing them up post wise or respectfully disagreeing with them online and giving truthful references in a timely manner, which cannot be said for some advertisers there, I'm quite hurt to discover that many have complained behind my back, without knowing me or my intention(s). I will continue to aid others regardless as that's a reflection on who I am, not their treatment of me.

Do members and other ladies feel that it's inappropriate for a non advertising provider to post in either section? I for one worry about myself and don't usually concern myself with what others are doing, unless it directly affects me. I'm sorry if these ladies feel I'm somehow taking food from their table by posting on the boards, but I can honestly say that I get little to no business from them, especially as I've been around as long as I have and given most members proclivity towards variety, my screening practices, age limit and non central location. I rely on my regulars, not new clients to keep me afloat. I've already ran this by a lady whose opinion I value and gotten her take on the matter, which is pretty much in line with mine. Now I'm curious what the general population thinks. Personally I don't believe anyone should have to pay to post a thoughtful opinion in the lounge, thank a member or gain access to the section whereby we warn other providers of bad dates.

Your candor is appreciated and I thank you for taking the time to address my concern(s) in advance!

I would like to see more women posting. Reading their posts on the different forums has helped me learn more about the industry from their perspective and has likely saved me from making a total ass of myself when I visit

Your reviews here are top notch and none mess with them. A good thing, if you ask me.
