PSA: blackberry playbook 32gb tablet $118.00

Keep an eye out on CL. Flippers will be looking to unload them now....

I just got a playbook. So far I enjoy it but haven't had the time to truly tinker with it. There is an app installed when you purchase it called kobo reader for the posters who are looking into them for that purpose.

Mine had that too but the issue is you can only read books you purchased through kobo on it....I tried to load others but it wouldn't let me....kind of like itunes.....

I paid 99 cents for a calibre book reader and it allows you to load just about any format of book into it....mobi, lit etc....so far the only issue I have is during the conversion it screws up some words....the book I'm reading now it put a hyphen into every word with tion on it and many others.....and you all know what a stickler I am for spelling etc lol....

I picked up a 16GB version for $199 last year, and I thought that was a great deal. I am pretty happy with my Playbook, and it's using a version of the QNX operating system that will form the basis of all of their smartphone operating systems for the next several years, so this your chance to preview it. It's pretty slick.

just wanted to let you all know that staples will be having the 32 gb playbook on also for $118 on black friday....

here's the flyer:

minimum 20 per store......so get there early....

for y'all that snoozed and lost last time, they are available on the staples website right now......no need to line up at the store......

BlackBerry 10: AWESOME. If the hardware matches it, RIM jobs are safe • The Register

So how does it all fit together? Well, you need to learn a couple of universal fingertip gestures on the touchscreen: 'up' is one, and straightforward. 'Up-and-right', a kind of dog-leg, is another. That's more than Apple's iPhone requires - but it only takes a minute or two to get used to.
Once you've got used to it, and that the Hub is the home screen, BB10 is by some distance the most brutally efficient multitouch interface I have used so far. It makes the others look like hard work.

Yes, the odds are stacked against RIM - and when it comes to the as-yet unseen hardware, it needs to pull some crackers out of the barrel. But phones sell on the user interface, and this is very good indeed.
