I've been pondering this for some time, so decided to ask the masses. Lol.
Do ladies rates actually make you decide to see her or not when wanting to initate contact and bookings?. Is it a multitude of things. Services, looks, personality, Twitter feeds etc or purely book ladies based on her rates?

Rates for me are very important. I try to budget between 220 to 250 an hour. Of course looks is important but that is different for everyone, we all have different tastes. Attitude plays a big part too, ladies when posting or tweeting endear themselves to us, others push us away in my opinion.

Obviously menus can no longer be advertised but if I book a lady and present myself in a clean respectable manner i.e. showered, respectful etc....I hope to receive bj, daty, fs, dfk....of course one should always respect the ladies offerings and enjoy the hour regardless of the menu but a repeat obviously will be hindered in the future. This statement may not go well with some but unfortunately it is the nature and reality of the business.

Rates are not important as long as service meets the demand and supply. Reding reviews also helps on determining who to visit.

Rate wise if I'm booking off a pic on a site I tend to stick to $250 or under. I tend to pay less attention to the rate when I've met someone on a social level and find the chemistry overwhelming.

Twitter is good because of the candid pics and flirtatious tweets which have been known to draw me in.

Service will make a difference for word of mouth, recommendations and repeats but it's not the initial draw unless I hear from others to stay away.

For me rates are very important, but also looks and reviews and any interaction whether through Twitter at a HUBGFE or MERB party or otherwise. I still consider myself a bit of a newbie at this hobby and have seen 6 SPs over the past 10 months, and have seen a few of them twice. I find some of the top rated SPs, per the amazing HUBGFE rating system, at $200-$250 to provide awesome service and great value for money. However, I will pay more if there is some added attraction, especially if I have met the SP.

I don't exactly look only at the rates but since there are many highly reviewed SPs in The under $300 range, it makes me hesitant to pay more.

This is pretty much the standard I follow. There will be the ladies that will only see "generous men" and for me it's really about respectful mutual beneficial interaction that fits within my budget.

Pics on the sites are generally very misleading, some agencies more than others..I love that more and more ladies are using selfies in their advertisements.

I saw this article on twitter and it seems very appropriate to the whole pricing question and certainly agrees with the comments so far. This SP, Rae Monroe, really has it figured out and explains it very well.

I thought most professional escorts wanted to avoid the types that shopped around for rates. I like to decide who'll I'll see not the other way around.
The escort business is a luxury not a necessity, so for those who have to budget, well.. save up, is all I can recommend. I price myself to attract a specific type of gentlemen, I'm not interested in quantity. But I suppose if a girl wants a lot of clients per day, then lowering her rate may be a necessity. However I don't believe that there is competition, so pricing to be competitive is unnecessary, imho. Each escort is unique and has something different to offer and those who shop around for the cheapest and compare all girls as being the same, are the clients I'd think you'd want to avoid.
No matter what one has, looks wise, or how one prices, there will be slow times and busy times and someone who'll want you to charge more or less. There is no secret to success in this biz, or a special way to attract clients, other than working hard, often and investing wisely. So do as *you* see fit, regardless of others opinions and actions:) Just my advice, for what it's worth:)

Can you elaborate what you mean by "certainly agrees with the comments so far?"

In the article she gave advice for ladies wanting to raise their rates and her experience and research in how she figured out what works for her. Rae charges a minimum of $500/hour and more for certain cities.

Many responses here said they are only willing to spend between $200-$300/hour.... And if rate is the most important aspect to a client that's his choice. Ladies in that rate bracket get the most amount of inquiries and can potentially have the most amount of clients if they're in demand and if that's what they wish.

I feel that the responses here are separate from this article. This is just a small sampling of the members who wanted to respond and generally what is seen from what ladies are reviewed here most often. There are always gentlemen who pay different rates depending on what girl they want to see or are looking for. I have noticed ladies who charge more than $250/hour get reviewed less often in general.

Cristy: I think most clients have some budget sensitivity, and some SPs will want to maximize their revenue, rather than seeing a specific type of client. IMHO, the OP seems to be trying to find if there is a connection between how much the SP asks for and how many clients she might see. #clients X average charge = revenue. Rae seems to agree with this and has targeted her rates so that she gets about the amount of work, and revenue, that she desires.

Charlotte: I was trying to say that most of the responses do indicate some price sensitivity as does Rae's blog. However, most comments also indicate that there are exceptions. Again, Rae seems to have found that there is a significant correlation between price and number of clients.

I am not making any judgements, just found the whole question posed by the OP to be very interesting.

I also like to do the kind of business, analytical research that Rae did to reach her conclusions. I do not suggest that there is a right answer as to how much you should charge. As Rae said you set your price and the market will tell you if it is too high or too low. It is not quite that simple but the general premise seems sound to me.

I went back and reread Amelia's post. Based on this very small sample and on Rae's larger sample rates are important to most clients. I think looks probably come second, most guys seem to like a certain type. Services are important to most guys as are reviews.

I think personal contact is probably pretty huge, if you meet someone once, whether at a party or actually sample the service, many guys will repeat or will want that first sample.

I will respectfully disagree and mainly because Rae's business model is based in Florida. Prostitution is completely illegal there for both sides and the ladies can get away with charging more. In this market at her current prices I believe she would fail.

Anyone could charge whatever they wish and as clients we can choose to book or find someone cheaper. In our market that is very easily achieved without losing quality on either looks or service.

I noticed the thread about Montreal and wishing everyone who goes a great time. Sin city Montreal is even less expensive and the quality of women is through the roof.

It's pretty harsh for you to say based on price alone she would fail. There are several reputable sp's in the Toronto area that charge between $500-$600/hour. I don't understand the negativity. Ladies charge what they want for what they offer and depending on how many or how few clients they are able to or want to accommodate.

One of my close friends charges $500/hour in Toronto and she's very well reviewed and reputable and doesn't have trouble.

Certainly all ladies cannot charge the same top price if the market won't support it. I just don't get why there's a need to criticize a higher rate to cut a lady down just because you wouldn't pay it or charge it that's all.

I'm particularly appalled by the negative experiences my friends have shared with me as of TODAY about their recent trips to Montreal as an escort. Clients telling them to lower their rates and harassing them and many inquirers demanding bbfs for their full rate instead.

Competition is good yes, but it's ridiculous to say that every lady and every city has to have the same "low" rates for a good market and for ladies to succeed.

No good market runs on businesses or services that offer the exact same product for the same price. There is always a range of prices and variations on service or quality with healthy competition. No one would be happy if Walmart were our only department store for clothes, or if Burger King was our only restaurant because "why pay more when all we need as humans are the basics?" Not realistic. Yet some people go on and on and on that because there's some great ladies at a great price, anyone who charges more isn't worth it. How would you react if someone said that they could find cheaper than you for the same or better work to you in your job?

I've actually noticed more Montreal ladies touring Toronto lately because Toronto can warrant a slightly higher hourly rate than Montreal.

The whole point of her post was that she would very likely lower her prices down closer to the going rate if she were to work in Toronto ya dolt.

I set my rate at a particular level because I like to attract the type of client who'll search me out *not* because of my rate but because of all my traits.
I've learned a lot since becoming an independent escort back in 2011. when I also created an online presence. However there was a time when I was involved with services and back then there were no "reviews", or "regular rates" everyone pretty much charged as they would, up charged even and everyone did great. Much of what is offered today or even compared to 2011 wasn't then. At each time I've survived nicely, and still do. I still believe that each escort hasn't the need to follow the other to do well. Just because 10 of 20 girls may charge 200 doesn't mean you won't do as well if you charged more. Sorry.. but I won't allow some guy or guys determine my worth, that's for me to do and me alone. You having a budget isn't my issue that's yours, sorry for being harsh. As far as girls who charge XX being reviewed more, that I don't buy either. Reviews are given for a myriad of reasons and by a certain type of hobbyist, there are as many clients who'll give them as not. Many gentlemen, many, many fine gentlemen play and keep their play quiet, and they're way of reviewing, their way of complimenting they're chosen lady, is to repeat with her. Imho, that is the best form of review one can get. I have clients that have remembered me and returned from visits back in my inception, no bigger compliment than that. Yes, the Op I'm sure knows all this and is simply trying to get a sense of "what is popular" but and again, in this biz I don't think you can surmise "popularity", because who and why some *appear* to get more reviews, clients, or attention, on some forums or through other avenues, still can't be compared to those who aren't being talked about or reviewed, so how would you compare and sometimes those who aren't being talked about or reviewed a lot are the ones who are *actually* doing better than those following the lead
:wink2:
The hardest hit in this business will be those escorts who *think* they need to do as others to get by, who *need* to earn a certain amount per day, week or month, that is when things get tough, because they fall pray to the type of client who thinks it's his right to determine her worth, her value, her quality and what services she *should* be offering. Those escorts will have a need to see all the less desirable clients. It is those women or men, those escorts, I'll always speak up for and try to help.

Was that insult at the end REALLY necessary? SMH...

I agree, no need for insults but this topic you can see is approached from two different sides.

The provider who wishes to make as much as possible for their service and who can blame them and the consumer who wishes to pay less for more as is the same in any market.

In the end a provider has the right to charge X dollars and the user has the choice to choose from a large selection ranging from $160 and hour to $1000 an hour.

On a side note and perhaps Charlotte and Cristy could answer this. Why does becoming an indy automatically come with a price increase considering at this point the indy keeps the entire fee? I've always wondered why this phenomenon takes place. I've even heard from others about an "indy union" which brought a tear to my eye.. If this is the case, I'll immediately prepare the union cards . :biggrin2:

Indy's have to pay all costs that are covered by Agency owners - website, advertising, incall expenses, supplies, driver, phone bill, etc, etc, etc.
