Romania moves closer to banning same-sex marriage after 'overwhelming vote'

Say no more.

“We’ve been a Christian nation for 2,000 years,”

My position is, that marriage is useless, unless there is offspring involved.

A couple making a commitment to each other, does not require some outdated ritual.

Worst case, have legal financial document drawn up.
No more, I want a divorce, with no children, simply walk away, take what ever was agreed to in the legal document.

And the big advantage of living Common Law, with no children, is the elimination of the scum, called divorce lawyers.

Can anybody explain to me, how the hell a queer divorce is handled, when there is adopted or otherwise children involved ?

why you have to pay $500 to a lawyer per hour to get your answer.

I'm not interested in a leach's concept of justice, or reality for that matter.

Shouldn't be complicated at all.

Have a contract drawn up when the adoption or insemination is planned by a queer couple, done, keep the scum divorce lawyers out of the equation after the fact.

PS: The government should supply standardised forms to cover most of the possible scenarios in these cases, no legal scum required.

This is why we in the US have a Representative Republic rather than a democracy as so many say. Our rights are protected by the constitution from any tyrannical majority. Think it's wrong for the majority to vote for a law to ban same-sex marriages....then you should have some empathy for people who want to own guns (even though only one of those is in our constitution). Just because a majority of the population feels one way or the other doesn't mean they get to take away a person's rights.

Keep the government small and you won't have them sticking their noses into things that don't concern them....like marriage. They shouldn't have a damned thing to say about that!

I don't claim to understand how your country is run, but it seems to me that with the issue of marriage, specifically, between a man and a women, as stated in the constitution, is now determined by each individual state, so this seems to imply that the constitution is no longer relevant for what constitutes a marriage.

And therefor can be influenced by the majority, at least per state.

Told you I don't know how your country is run,... :)

I must have miss read about the subject brought up in the courts.

Pretty much agree with everything you are stating.

But I have to think that you would agree, that a queer "marriage" can be really complicated if children are involved, and there should be some government oversight.

What he said.

Who is the mommy

Who is the mommy

Are you sure you want government oversight on the raising of kids? ....even for gay marriages? We've heard all sorts of stories about the misuse of power by family welfare government programs here in the states. They've taken kids away when they shouldn't have and they've left kids in abusive situations. As I've said somewhere else, picture the idiots in the DMV working on anything and you should see that you don't want the government involved.

The subject I was posting about, is NOT the government having oversight on the raising of children, but about in a queer marriage, in the case of adopting children.

How would you suggest a divorce is handled when it involves gays with an adopted child, the way I suggested, or ,... ???
