A question for any legal beagles here, and self proclaimed "experts" for that matter.

If the van murderer is proclaimed to be "Not criminally responsible", when would that have taken effect, at inception, when he was born, years later, when he started going to the Incel site, or a millisecond before he killed the first person ?

I would guess right from the time, the actual crime was committed?? IMHO, nothing wrong with renting a van in the first place. The obvious question would be, "what caused the guy to snap like that, and run over all those people."

I apologize if my response sounds stupid, as obviously, I'm not a lawyer.

IMHO, NCR would probably be very hard to prove, in this particular case?? With that being said, you often hear how two expert forensic Psychiatrists, can often have extreme differences of opinion. Psychiatry, is far from an exact science, and IMHO, Psychiatrists can often have a different view on things, depending on if they are hired by the crown or hired by the defence lawyers, to write an expert report.

My point is, how does one determine WHEN he "snapped" ?

I personally hope that it is not proven to be the case, but we all know how screwed up our self serving "legal system" is, not to be confused with a "justice system".

Excellent post. I guess that is for the defence lawyers and Psychiatrists to determine when he "snapped"?? Also if even the NCR defence, would be applicable in this particular case??
