Sex Trade Worker Beaten and Robbed In Durham

A female sex trade worker was pistol whipped and robbed by an apparent client earlier today in Ajax.

On Friday, March 15, 2013 at approximately 4:20 a.m., the suspect attended the victim’s home under the guise of being a client. He then hit her in the head with a handgun and stole a quantity of cash. The victim received a laceration that required medical attention. She was treated and released from hospital.

The suspect is described as: male, black, aged 20-25, 6’ tall and approximately 150 lbs. He was wearing a black toque and black clothing.

While we all hope she's going to be ok, one has to wonder what the hell she was thinking working at her home at all hours of the night with no security. Ladies put themselves in a position where they can be robbed, injured, raped or killed when they don't follow common sense screening and safety procedures. This could have easily be prevented. I do hope she's ok, this is one hell of a way to learn a lesson.

When you say "security"what exactly do you mean? The guy had a gun, and pistol whipped her. Not sure what she could do in those circumstances. Here's hoping he "resists arrest" when they catch him.

It's not that uncommon, unfortunately. An old girlfriend who was an escort told me stories about being beaten and robbed a couple of times. The ladies are too vulnerable to idiots who get off doing this. There is always the fear of reporting incidents to the police.

I agree they need to be safe, but nanny cams can make the client a potential victim. If he is skipping out on the wife, and the sp records the cam it could be used as blackmail or just find it's way on the net.

Jessica's comment about having someone else there is good. Except again, the perp had a gun, and as such would probably care less if there were more people home. Since it's Canada it is more than likely the SP or her security would be armed, since it's against the law and if he used it would likely go to jail.

I agree on the nanny cam comment .... I got the creeps as soon as I read that ... makes me reluctant to do outcalls to anyone's private home, what if they have nanny cams all over the place? yikes...
If a lady says she is welcoming clients and advises them she is not alone for safety reasons the culprit would likely not have tried what he tried. The risk of being caught, or seen by witnesses, or overpowered would make him think twice... I hope.

I agree the nanny cams are not a good idea. I for one would definitely never book an SP if it was found out she recorded my picture coming in. I do prefer Jessica's security near by, that wouldn't bother me one bit.
